The Zone of Interest is Jonathan Glazer’s film adaptation of Martin Amis' 2014 war novel of the same name. It centers on the domestic life of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss and his family living in the shadow of the Nazi German concentration camp of Auschwitz.

Location shooting for the film took place in Poland, mostly close to the former Auschwitz camp.

Poland’s Ewa Puszczyńska (Ida, Cold War) was the film’s co-producer and the cinematography was in the hands of countryman Łukasz Żal.

The film earlier won three BAFTAs and three Gloden Globe Awards.

The Zone of Interest went on general release in Poland last weekend.
